Why is a guest I brought not counted as attended?

How attendance is counted

Your earnings and campaign performance are based on verified attendance, not just registrations. A guest is only counted as 'attended' when they are successfully checked in at the door by the event staff.

If a guest you invited has registered but does not appear in your confirmed attendance figures, it is usually because they have not yet been scanned in or marked as arrived at the venue.

Common reasons for missing attendance

Check these three areas to understand the status of your guest:

  1. The guest has not arrived

Registration confirms interest, but only a door check-in confirms attendance. If the event is still running or the guest has not yet reached the venue, they will show as registered but not attended.

  1. The guest was checked in under a different name

If your guest gave a different name at the door than the one they used to register via your link, the system may not attribute the check-in to your campaign. Guests should use the QR pass sent to them or ensure the door staff finds their exact registration name.

  1. The check-in was voided

Door staff can undo a check-in if a mistake was made. If a guest was scanned in accidentally and then voided by the organiser or door team, they will no longer count towards your attendance total. The original record remains marked as void in the audit log.

What you can do

You cannot manually mark a guest as attended yourself. This ensures that earnings are based on accurate, auditable door records.

  • Ask the guest to show their QR pass: This is the most reliable way to ensure they are matched to your registration link and checked in correctly.
  • Check your campaign status: View your active campaigns in the promoter dashboard to see the split between registered guests and confirmed arrivals.
  • Wait for closeout: Attendance figures may continue to update during the event and the immediate closeout period while the organiser reviews door exceptions.

If you believe a genuine error has occurred after the event has closed, you may raise a dispute through your promoter dashboard once the campaign enters the review phase.
